These terms cover websaleem.com, a personal portfolio site, and the AI assistant on it. By using the site you agree to them. How personal information is handled is set out separately in the Privacy Notice, which forms part of these terms.
1. What this site is
This is the personal portfolio of Saleem Khan. It describes projects built as personal work and links to them. It is not a commercial service, nothing is sold here, and there are no accounts to create.
The projects it links to — SecureBin, SecureView, SkillView, Quizzee, FloraSense and the rest — are separate and carry their own terms and privacy policies. These terms cover this site only.
2. The AI assistant ("Ini")
Ini is an AI assistant, not a person. It answers questions about my background and projects by retrieving relevant passages and generating a reply with a language model (Amazon Nova Pro on Amazon Bedrock).
Its answers are generated and may be wrong. They may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, and they are not professional advice of any kind. Nothing it says is a commitment on my part, an offer of work, or a statement you should rely on for a decision. Where it matters, check with me directly.
Please do not type personal, financial, health or other sensitive information into the chat. What happens to what you do type is described in the Privacy Notice.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- send automated or high-volume requests to the site or the assistant — requests are rate limited, and the limit is there to keep a personal project affordable to run;
- attempt to make the assistant ignore its instructions, reveal its configuration, or produce content unrelated to its purpose;
- probe, scan or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or the infrastructure behind it;
- scrape or republish the content of this site as your own;
- use the site unlawfully, or in a way that interferes with anyone else's use of it.
4. Content and intellectual property
The text, design, images and code of this site, and the résumé published on it, belong to me. You are welcome to read them, link to them, and quote them with attribution. You may not republish them as your own or use them to imply endorsement.
Third-party names, logos and certification marks that appear here belong to their owners and are used only to describe what a project relates to.
5. Availability
This is a personal site offered free of charge with no uptime commitment. It may be unavailable, slow, changed or discontinued at any time, and the assistant may be switched off without notice.
6. Disclaimer
The site and the assistant are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from use of, or inability to use, this site or the assistant — including any decision made in reliance on something the assistant generated.
Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Reporting a problem
If the assistant gives an incorrect, offensive or otherwise problematic response, please report it to mdsaleem@gmail.com with the question you asked and the response you received. The same address is the place for anything else about these terms.
9. Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change, and continuing to use the site after a change means the revised terms are accepted.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
